TraceFence is a local-first AI agent control center. TraceFence Standard pairs a Mac with TraceFence Sentinel on iPhone so users can approve requests, launch or resume sessions, interrupt unsafe runs, terminate controllable sessions, inspect recent agent context, and monitor supported Mac agents from the phone.

## Core Positioning

- TraceFence Standard turns iPhone into a local control surface for Mac agents.
- Users should start with the GitHub local build because feature updates and bug fixes ship faster there. The Mac App Store build remains available for users who specifically want store-signed installation.
- The iOS client is TraceFence Sentinel. It connects directly to the paired Mac and prefers Agent Core on port 17896.
- TraceFence does not operate a cloud relay. Internet access requires a user-owned path such as LAN, Tailscale, ZeroTier, WireGuard, VPN, Cloudflare Tunnel, frp, SSH reverse tunnel, DDNS, or another secure private route.

Control depth depends on the adapter, installed CLI, local API, hook support, and session ownership. Codex Desktop, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Grok CLI, Qwen Code, OpenCode, and MiniMax Code expose richer approval or control paths when configured correctly. CodeBuddy and Trae may be read-only monitoring when only local IDE indexes are available.
